How much does it cost for an extension on air travel?

suppose you go on a trip and the dates are set how much does it cost to extend a trip for another 3-5 days?

example:
may 6 – may 26 set date

but just in case I want to extend I would want to extend until may 29th

    It depends on the fare rules for your specific ticket.

    If a change of date is allowed it will usually be a cost. Most discount tickets in economy are non-changeable.

    To Extend a ticket, you are essentially changing your ticket.. so you would have to pay the CHANGE fee, which is usually about $100. PLUS, you would have to pay the difference between the price of the old ticket and the new price.

    So, If you paid $400 for the old ticket, and the new pricing was $450, you would have to pay an additional $150.

    If you call in advance sometimes it won’t cost anything but the normal is 100 bucks to change!
