How much will it cost to change a passenger name for a British Airways flight?

jobo asked:

Hi all. I am traveling to New York in mid November and the person that I was originally going with has pulled out. I need to change the name on the ticket and understand that there will most certainly be a charge attached with this – does anyone know or had experience regarding this matter?

Regards
The ticket was bought directly through British Airways – thanks for the first answer, gave me some relief as I thought they wouldn’t allow it. I will ring British Airways tomorrow and check out their policy.

Thanks

Ramiro

If you bought the ticket directly through BA, they will allow a name change; I believe their change fee is $100.

However, if the ticket was purchased through an agent or website other than theirs, they do not allow name changes; you have to buy a new ticket.

Good luck. I did not expect that they would allow a change at all, but since another answerer specifically says they will on a ticket bought directly from them, I’ll yield to their (I hope!) greater knowledge.
