Does US airways and Continental serve meals on domestic?

upsers59 asked:

My brother and I are flying from Columbus Ohio to
Albuquerque New Mexico. From CMH to ABQ we will
be flying US Airways via Phoenix leaving at 8 am.
Return flight is Continental via Houston leaving ABQ at
615 am. The flight from Houston to Columbus is Continental
Express with a Embrarer 145 regional jet.

    USAirways no
Continental, yes on longer flights, so you may get one on the first leg/
    Certainly not on the Embraer

I dont know why a professional travel agent with years of experience would claim otherwise, but here is the Continental website page regarding meals.

  2. Pilot Says:

Not sure about Continental, but US Airways serves meals on flights 3 hours or more. Drinks are served on all flights

  3. Barrucuda Says:

Domestic airlines no longer serve meals for free. They ones over 4 hours will usually offer food for purchase but that is all.

The person above me is wrong. On Continental, they do serve meals for free, just on certain flights. Possible even on the embraer, but that you can check on their website. (BTW, Continental is and exellent airline) as for US Airways, I am not positie, but you can more than likely check on their website also…

  5. mhmd Says:

On Continental mainline flights yes, not on Continental Express.

I dont know why someone is saying Continental doesnt have meals. I had one just last week on a flight from San Diego to Houston.

It was a pasta dish that was actually pretty good.

Continental is the only airline that still serves meals on their flights longer than 4 or 5 hours. US Airways does not serve meals. You can purchase food from that airline.
