Are online flight tickets really nontransferable? ?

kadanesh asked:

My friend has two ticket, purchased online through expedia, with her name and her friend’s name. Her friend cannot make it going with her and now I want to go with her. Since she has bought the ticket with her own credit card online, can she change the second passenger’s name to mine? btw, the airline is USairways.

thanks

Generally, the tickets are non transferable. When you check-in, they ask for your ID and they compare it to the ticket.

You may be able to pay a fee to have it transferred over to you. Some tickets are as little as $50 to change.

unless she payed the extra fee they offer for just cases they can’t cange it.It’s about 15 dollars and they offer the protection right before you buy the ticket. USAirways is one of the worst airlines.I avoid them even if it means 30 bucks more for a ticket.

Online or offline, yep, generally non-transferable.
